Bridging the Gap Between Personal Development and Spirituality

I have struggled with this my whole life, bridging the gap between my pragmatic, goal getter, personal development soul and the draw I feel to spirituality and the lessons it brings.

There are so many of us out there and there isn’t a word for us, people who love spirituality a little but we also love lists, goal planning, targets, and traditional personal development. I am a very pragmatic person, I am not the sort of person who meditates and believes everything will just work out. I like steps. Taking actions and head butting my way to success.

Like we like spirituality but it often feels really overwhelming and nervous to talk about. I know for me, I was always so afraid to talk about it because I thought, people won’t take you seriously if you start spouting you like crystals and how clearing your chakras can improve life.

I love the spiritual community but I also don’t love the language they use which feels really hard to say but I think that’s great in a way. The reason I have always hated yoga is not the practice, it’s the way they speak and I don’t know why, there is nothing wrong with it. It is just not for me. But yoga has so many benefits and so does SO MUCH of spirituality. There are so many practice that have so much to offer that get discarded because of how they are presented.

This world is diverse and it is okay to like spirituality but not love how it is presented, that is fine! Not everyone likes strawberry ice cream! I think the fear we all have is that if we admit this, then the spiritual community will reject us and we won’t be welcomed in to a community we love and admire. But I think there is space for the two styles of growth to merge together.

We are all different and I think there is this niche of people who are interested but don’t want to dive right in to hemp clothing, crystals and meditation.

That is why I am here I suppose! I am bringing you all the best of spirituality in a more pragmatic fashion. A lot of my posts have been inspired by spirituality but translated into a more pragmatic way.

If you are out there and you feel me, let’s chat about this new genre called Pragmauality. We can have our crystals that have a pragmatic purpose and we can have our faiths but also have our goals and lists and ACTION.

I intend to explore this avenue and see where it takes me. Blending my love for the universe and faith that it all works out with my You gotta make it happen for yourself attitude.

It is the classic isn’t it, If it is meant to be it is meant to be, if not, it wasn’t meant to be and but you get what you want by going after it.

Stay posted and thank you for reading this blog post! I appreciate you immensely.
